I got in the mood to go back and look at what was going on last year around this time. It was only last year that Saddam Hussein was hung- how strange. I also was checking to see what You tube clips worked and this was about the only one that did work.
And then I clicked on this afterwards and I couldn't help myself from laughing. I'm terrible. But I still don't like Perez Hilton.

I am sitting at my apartment alone on Christmas. It really does sound sad when I type it, but I already had my Christmas last night and it isn't like I don't see them all the time. I came back last night at around 1 AM. It's snowing outside right now and it looks beautiful.
Christmas Eve was really good this year. Mainly because for the first time in my life I acted like a grownup at Christmas. I really was more interested to see what other people got than myself. It kind of amazed me- which makes me sound really bad... I got a Shiatsu massager, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix DVD, Superbad DVD, a beautiful Black Hills Gold necklace that isn't too Black Hills goldy. I also got a digital photo display that is unfortunately not compatible with my camera's card. I also received The Daring Book for Girls from my sister, A Night at the Museum DVD, and some other little things. It was so nice. I also realized that I can actually make something yummy and easy- chocolate covered pretzels. I am totally making them my own thing every year.
I dad's Christmas tree extravaganza was fun this year. We had people go by and slow down and honk, and clap their hands. It makes my dad very happy and it does look beautiful, like an enchanted forest. We three siblings pulled the fast one on mom and dad by getting them gift cards to Lowe's for their main present. It was nice because quite frankly we did destroy their house growing up and they can decide to use the money however they want to rather than getting a lot of small gifts. I typed up this little poem and put it with my gift card which I had mom open first.
Dear Mom and Dad,
You kept us clothed and you kept us fed,
yet to your house we brought much dread.
Stains on carpets, and rings on the table.
We're sorry that we were unstable.
We discussed getting something for the yard,
But decided to go with a gift card.
It isn't even a small part in what we owes'
but hopefully you like something at Lowe's
We love you lots,
Your three tots
I went with rhyming because it was very easy. Amy and Mark liked their DVD recorder, Taylor liked her everything High School Musical 2, especially her Nintendo DS system which I played for awhile, Nathan liked his Guitar Hero II with guitar (Amy also got him Guitar Hero III but on PlayStation). I sucked hard at the first four or so times I tried it, but then got pretty darn good and finished two songs. Yeah me! Samantha loved her My Little Pony Teapot palace, but was very tired because she didn't take a nap. I decided to leave last night because I liked leaving everything pleasant. I have a natural tendency to be a pain in the ass.
I get to work tomorrow so Hella and I are going to just settle in and be bums today. It will be awesome. Merry Christmas everyone!
I had to include the new pictures I took of her in the reindeer costume- she looks so mad!

I actually like this remix it's better than the original.

I will continue to judge people when they tell me they love Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice. I have Private Practice going on in the background and I am completely amazed at how really bad the show is. It really is bad. Seriously when I think about it I get really mad. Please writer's strike continue long enough for people to realize how crappy that show is.
I watched Waitress last night. I got it from the library and it was alright. I liked after she gave birth, when she became a mama bear. It isn't one of those movies that I would watch over and over again...
I have two more days of work. I actually get Christmas Eve off! Of course, I don't get the day after Christmas though. I am working hard at getting vacation hours this winter because I only have about 25 right now, and I want enough to have a full week off in the summer and then a couple of two days vacations. I am ready to think about summer and winter hasn't even really started.

You liar! You do suck at life! Boo! Here is an article to go with it.
Survivor Lunch Lady a Big Fat Mullet Liar 1:32AM / 18.12.2007
Denise from Survivor not only sucks at life, but at lying too! Sunday nights she aired her personal life to the world again! The poor me, poor me sob story. Denise claimed that she was demoted from her lunch lady job and was now working as a janitor. This pathetic feel sorry for me plea convinced Mark Burnett to give her $50 000… Well, I bet he regrets it now.Various workers are claiming Denise is a liar and the school she works at is claiming that she was promoted before leaving for Survivor!
Douglas Public Schools released the follow statement Monday,
On the “Survivor China” television program that aired on December 16, 2007, Mrs. Denise Martin, an employee of the Douglas Public Schools, stated that she was demoted from her position as a cafeteria worker upon her return from taping the show. This statement is false. In fact, Mrs. Martin held a full-time position as a custodian prior to her participation in the series, and she returned to this same position upon her return from China. Mrs. Martin was granted - at her request - an unpaid leave of absence so that she could participate in the “Survivor” program. We were pleased and excited to support Denise, and have enthusiastically cheered her on throughout the duration of the show.
Although Mrs. Martin was a cafeteria employee prior to her selection as a contestant, she asked to be considered for a promotion to full-time custodian, and was promoted to this position on March 30, 2007. This promotion came with additional benefits and a higher salary. Following her leave, she then returned to this same position.
Regretfully, the Douglas Public School District was inaccurately portrayed as failing to be accommodating to an employee during what the District viewed as a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity. This is far from the case. On the contrary, we granted all requests made by Mrs. Martin so that she could participate in the “Survivor” series. Since Mrs. Martin was on an approved leave, her position was held open for her, and she returned to this same position upon her return from China. As a District, we make every effort to support our employees, and will continue to do so.
Nancy T. Lane
Superintendent of Schools
Nancy Lane says she spoke with Denise on the telephone on Monday afternoon and that she was apologetic, but that “she did not explain why she said that to my satisfaction,” Lane explained. “It’s difficult to grasp. We did nothing but encourage her. She took leave for almost three months, she was given additional times off when ever she needed it. Now she says this on national TV…. Douglas is a nice little town. Everybody was rooting for her, the local paper was bending over backwards with positive articles. Then to have it end this way. Talk about a letdown.”

I have been wanting to watch the second season of Dead Like Me and I discovered a site that allows me to watch it. sidereel.com. I am in love with it. I will probably watch most of my television shows from it. I want to connect my new television to my computer which I can- yeah!
Today is a monumental day in my life, yet it is going unnoticed by everyone including myself. So I would just like to say- yay me! I finally did it!
And how did I spend it? Sleeping in and having dreams in which I am a cult celebrity. It was really strange. I woke up and thought what the fuck. I have the most messed up dreams a week before my period. I also went to the mall- ugh! I absolutely abhor the mall. I realize that I am not a normal girl/woman because I really have never enjoyed being there.
Tomorrow I am going to go to Brookings for time with family, clean clothes, and Survivor finale on my sister's 50' Plasma television. Yeah- they had to top me with 13 more inches. I'm cheering for Todd- go Todd!

I watched this last night and cried like a little bitch. I adored the actress that played the mother. Kal Penn was good too, but the parents were the best.

I am slightly in love with it. I have so many movies and television shows that it just seemed like a waste to watch them on tiny screens all the time. I'm happy that I can watch my shows and experience them fully. My apartment is a little chaotic, but I still took the picture. I kind of wish that I had gone for the 42 inch television, but I think that it actually was the just the right fit for my stand and for my current living arrangements. I can always get another bigger television later- haha I just thought about my mom reading that and freaking out. Don't worry mom it won't be for at least a couple years.

So there is apparently going to be a movie of Dead Like Me. I got hooked on the show in the summer when I got it from the Brookings library so I'm pretty excited! They are having pretty much the same cast as the show with a few exceptions. Plus Desmond is in it!

Oh Heroes. You are so like a guy, awesome at first and then you totally act of of character and eventually become something completely different and not in a good way.. Quite frankly I am relieved that it won't be back for quite some time. Is that mean? I can hope that Ali Larter won't be back- but I'm sure that won't happen :(
It was such a desperate rush of tying up loose ends that sucked in the first place. I can't even think of one character that intrigued me, not one. Even... dare I say it... HRG Noah Bennett didn't. There was just too much going on and that would be alright if the plot lines were exciting.
I just wish that I didn't feel that way- but frankly out of all 'my shows' this has become my least favorite. Maybe all the time striking will encourage creativity? Anyway I can hope...

For the last 24+ hours I have been going batty trying to fix my computer's ability to play YouTube videos on my site and other sites. It showed me nothing except for that little picture with three shapes inside it up in the corner of the space where the video is supposed to be. I probably spent six hours trying to figure out how to fix it. It happened right after I bought/downloaded Print Master so I thought that I really fucked up the computer. It turns out that I just needed to uninstall and then re-install Adobe Flash. Now it works and I don't feel quite so stressed over nothing. In between the computer craziness I sat on my ass, went to the library and went shopping. It still is really crappy conditions outside. The streets are either clogged up or slippery. I just hate winter!
I just hate when something small gets me upset. The thing that was driving me crazy is that I could watch on YouTube, but other sites- no dice. Okay- Breathe Sarah!

Well, I have an official reason not to become a crazy cat lady. Hella hates other cats. Every once and awhile a cat has come along and tormented her through the patio window, but right now she is going nuts! She has gone from hissing to loud grunts and every once and awhile comes over and tries to rub up against my legs. I can tell it is an ownership kind of rub though. I'm just scared that she is going to come over and try to scratch and bite me. The other cat is a kitten and has tried to meow at me to let it in. I feel bad leaving it out there, but I would feel worse with cat piss and blood everywhere. Hella would kill that cat. I'm also worried about what kind of noises she makes when I am gone during the day and sometimes night. She had the vertical blinds going back and forth. Pure pandemonium. Okay- it is getting quiet on the western front. Maybe the kitten left. I'm hearing some little meows though... I'm scared...
Update: She kept going at it for awhile after. I went to bed, but I could still hear her warning grunts. When I woke up the next afternoon there was a bunch of snow blanketing everything- so I wonder if I will find a Popsicle kitten when it melts... I hope not.

I am typing this on extremely sore and chapped hands. I wash my hands so much everyday at work that when winter hits my hands sometimes get so bad they bleed. No joke! I have quite a bit to talk about tonight. I finally accomplished something today that I have been struggling to achieve for over ten years. I should feel relieved, but I have a knot in my stomach. And since I don't feel relieved I'm getting more stressed about it and it is just a big circle of frustration.
About a week ago I decided that I was going to get myself a present to celebrate my 'acheivement' and for all the holidays in the year. I bought a new television. It is a Vizio 37 inch LCD HDTV. I have been obsessing about getting one for about two months, and if people know me they know that I am a 'Miss One Note.' So it was only a matter of time before I got it. My mother will freak out when she sees it and that is why I will not tell her how much I paid for it. I do find it sad that I am having day dreams about watching television. I'm going to see how normal cable looks on it before I decide whether or not to get digital cable. I am curious about Direct TV as well. But that is putting the cart before the horse. At first I'm going to watch some movies and shows on DVD. I'm so excited!
I should get to bed because who knows where the day will take us except buried under snow and ice. I hate winter!!

From the video:
This is a love song inspired by the famous "2 Girls 1 Cup" video that features two girls erotically shitting into a cup, eating it, then puking into eachother's mouths (it's probably one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen in my life). If you've never seen it, I don't recommend it.

Yay! I was a Last Stop CD Shop tonight and found a CD that has the song on it. Every version of the song I have almost considered to buy was done by something like the Countdown singers or some crap like that. But I got the original singer Gayla Peevey (what a name!). It is one song that no matter how many times I hear it makes me smile. Some people may be annoyed by it, but I love it!
The story of the song is found at this page

Well, if you haven't watched it you have a couple of opportunities to catch it. On Thursday on Thanksgiving Day it will air twice once at noon and again at 7 (I think) check your local schedules. I admit that I bought the CD a couple of days ago and I love it. I keep singing little bits of it and it makes me happy.

A couple of months ago I posted the Mean Kitty song. I came across this video in which the guy who does the videos tells the story of Sparta. It's cute and the kitty is exactly like my Hella. She was a little brat when she was young and would use my hand as a chew toy. Of course, I didn't do all the things you are supposed to do to discourage that play. So it makes me feel better about my cat. I always thought it meant she was feral, but I now know differently. Plus I just received some new Soft Paws that I ordered on Monday. Now Hella will be decked out with a variety of colors. I went with a variety of colors for more options.

This song always leaves me weeping in the fetal position. I am a sometime visitor of the Post Secret site. It makes me feel like I'm not alone in feeling like I have these deep dark secrets, regrets, and wishes.

I just wanted to post that I'm in a really great mood tonight. I'm feeling very motivated about getting all my big projects done. I have a lot of work to do this next couple of weekends, but after I'm done with it I'm going to be so relieved. You know it is a good day when you come home and you are motivated enough to clean. Work was the same way. I got a lot of small things done, but they added up to a lot. The children were all in a good mood and the last couple of days I got the most challenging child to do things he has had a hard time doing. It makes me feel like 'Hey, maybe I am doing things right!'
I am also pretty excited about this writer's strike if it actually goes on. Maybe I'll do something else besides mindlessly watching my shows. Although I have pretty much given up hope on Heroes. I almost feel like I should write a letter to the show. Sorry- it's not me, it's you. (and no I didn't mix the words up)
I actually went to Last Stop CD Shop and got some new DVDs the other night. Season 1 of Dexter and both Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. I haven't seen Dexter yet- so at least I can look forward to that. And I love Shaun of the Dead but have always just checked it out from the library when I've wanted to watch it. I kind of ended up just grabbing it when I tried to use the buy one/get one coupon on Dexter and Hot Fuzz and was denied.
Oh my.. I'm just blabbering per usual...
I just colored my hair last week. I chose dark brown, which of course looked like black for the first couple of days. It is now actually looking brown. I made a slight kind of pledge to not cut my hair until it is long enough to donate to Locks of Love, but it is getting really annoying. My bangs are growing out, however they are in the really awkward stage right where they are getting long enough to sweep to the side but they don't always want to stay there. Oh well...
The other day I saw something that I bought impulsively and I think that I'm going to bring it to Brookings for Samantha's enjoyment. A self setting whoopee cushion. Ah technology!

I deal with 16 three year olds daily and I get paid slave labor- I don't feel that bad for you! Yes I'm bitchy. But thank god some shows aren't being filmed- no Grey's Anatomy or Housewives- I can live in a world like that.

I have been watching Freaks and Geeks this weekend. I feel bad for being part of the reason it got canceled- I wasn't watching. I have a new appreciation for so many of the actors I love already. Jason Segel- ahhhh- Love him. The characters just crack me up. Busy Philips as Kim scares the shit out of me- and at the same time I wish I could be like her. Lindsay reminds me of myself in high school (slightly-and not in looks) because she wants to be like the freaks yet she struggles because some of the things they do is just not her.
Martin Starr- there are no words to describe how much I love him. The beard jokes were the best part of Knocked Up and he is consistently the funniest in the scenes he's in Freaks and Geeks.
'sigh' I am feeling all angsty now.

I feel kind of bad, however this was my first thought when I heard he was sick and then he indeed passed away today. Rest in peace Robert Goulet.

I stole this word for word from ONTD- It's awesome!
This is a deleted scene that will be on the High School Musial 2 DVD, and was partially leaked last month, but has never been seen in its entirety. For some reason, it was included in the Belgian airing of the movie this past weekend (hence the subtitles).

I've seen this picture everywhere and had no desire to find out who it was until I saw the second picture and then I realized who it was. If you don't know then you may not be a big fan of How I Met Your Mother. His costume is (wait for it) legendary. The guy he's with may have to go see a teenage doctor. Do you give up? Answer is below.
It's NPH. Neil Patrick Harris for those not in the know.

Yes, I'm five kinds of lame, I'm putting up my paper I did for Into the Wild back in 2000. It is so strange because when I read the book I was a completely different person than I am now, however I still feel some of the same feelings that I did then. I went to the movie with my mother on Sunday in Brookings. Scenes take place in South Dakota, Carthage to be exact, so there were lots of people interested in it. I truthfully haven't read the book again since 2000, and I gave it to someone and never got it back. I may have to check it out and re-read it to see how my opinion's changed. That is what I love about books, every time you read a story you appreciate it in a different way. Anyway, if anyone wants to read my thoughts on the story when I was 21 (or was it 22?) then have at it. I believe if you click it will make it larger (that's what she said- sorry I couldn't resist). Yes- it still has my grammar corrections and grade.
Plus- if you call 692-4412 by this Thursday and wait you'll hear the actor Emile Hirsch be pronounced Emily by the local time announcer- haha!

Because it scares the shit out of me and I love them. I watched 28 Weeks Later tonight at my parents' house. I am in town to hang with the nieces because I won't see them on Wednesday (unless I change my mind and still come up) or next weekend (I'm not coming up). Before I left SF I went and picked up two movies that were waiting for me at the library, the one mentioned already and Transformers. I may watch that tomorrow at home. Anyway back to the zombie movies. I get into a phase where I want to watch them and then for the next couple days every time I go outside and it is quiet I get really freaked out. I had to go out to my car at 1 AM and it was quiet (duh it's late) and I could see everything because the moon is bright- I was still scared. The verdict- I liked the movie- much more Americanized than the original 28 Days Later. I might have to watch Dawn of the Dead soon, and yes it will be the new one because I liked it (so shove it! horror movie snobs!)
I was thinking about going to Into the Wild tomorrow during a matinee. I'm still curious to see how it was brought to the big screen. We'll see- I'll probably just do Halloween kind of stuff with the girls.
Here's the 28 Weeks Later trailer if you are interested

So there is this show on VH1 The Salt N Pepa Show. Obviously it's about the female group from the eighties and nineties. Well, I saw this on ONTD awhile ago and someone put up the links to the upcoming shows. The first episode her nose was like it used to be, but the girl must have got her face torn up between that and the rest because she looks basically nothing like the old her.
Check it out
Well it isn't showing it, but here is the link

So sue me! I'm proud I did it by myself.
Plus- please excuse the mess in the background. It's kind of crazy. Hella already loves snuggling on the futon mattress so I know it's going to be covered in cat hair daily- fun!
I tried to post this about three hours ago and the blogger wasn't working. Hella has been practically glued to the middle of the futon ever since.

About thirty minutes ago I finished putting together my new sofa (I agree with Michael Scott!!) and I think I actually did it correctly. Intellectually I know that you've seen one futon you've seen them all. Of course, it's not a crappy black metal frame, it's 'fancy' wood with magazine holders on the arm. I'm a little in love with it right now. I have been used to second hand sofas/couches for so long that I'm pumped to have something new.
Anyway...
I have been up since around 7:45 AM and going nonstop shopping from 9 AM until 9 PM. My mom came up last night and we went to Hairspray and then this morning we started off at the Expo for Her. We went last year and it was about double the crowd from last year. Plus- there weren't any free monster coffees like last year. Boo! My mom sampled quite a few wines, I probably only had half the amount she did. We then went shopping at thrift stores, Target, Hobby Lobby, ate lunch at Panera Bread, went to Shopko, and eventually went to Denny's for supper. It was a crazy long day. I only have two more episodes to go to finish season one of Ugly Betty. Then on to Freaks and Geeks.
I should be in bed. I'm actually really tired, and that is strange for me at only 1 AM!

So I know that one clip on You Tube has been shown everywhere of The Grass Roots when Creed Bratton was in the group. If you don't know who Creed is you don't watch The Office and I have no time for you. Anyway I'm putting up a different video and the other video(except this one is in color and better than the other one I've been seeing). I still have to watch tonight's episode and I'm getting ready to watch all my NBC shows right now.
More information on Creed Bratton on CreedBratton.com
And here is the best of Creed from The Office

I just saw this on BWE. I am on a Apatow kick lately, so I'm excited to see what he is going to do on the site.

Back in the late 80s and early 90s I was all about loving Oprah. But then she got really really rich and really really out of touch with reality. I just saw this post and had to share it. The story is:
Jessica Seinfeld appeared on Oprah last week to promote her cookbook "Deceptively Delicious" and one week later it is a national best-seller. Today, her husband Jerry is in the interview seat to promote his upcoming animated feature "Bee Movie," in which Oprah voices a judge. With Jessica in the front row, Oprah, walnut-sized diamonds dripping from her ears, told the audience what Jessica had sent to her instead of a note thanking her for last week's appearance. Shoes.
Jessica sent Oprah 21 pairs of shoes. From the shot that goes across the screen, the majority were Christian Louboutin kicks, which retail for $800-$1200 a pair. Just a $16,000-$20,000 thank you, from one multi-millionaire couple to their billionaire friend.
and the video and source is located here

This last Saturday I almost got into a fist fight with my my sister and niece about the quality of Heroes this season. I probably was laying it on a little thick about how crappy it is. I said I was going to give the show three more episodes and if it sucked then I was considering saying goodbye. I actually enjoyed tonight's episode 'The Kindness of Strangers'. It's giving a little more insight to the characters and it isn't the same old shit. I mean I love Milo, but his current setting is leaving me cold. And Hiro, everybody knows where that is leading- just get to the point...
I was excited to see Micah without his mother. I am excited to see new characters and powers. Except for the Mexican twins, that doesn't interest me...
I just fixed my time on my computer so now my shows won't be cut off two minutes too early.

Thank god there aren't any penises or drugs drawn on their faces. I got this from Perez Hilton's site, but I couldn't resist putting it up.
The are attending a Bruins hockey match and were even accompanied by Steve Carrell(who is not shown).
I wouldn't mind checking out sports if I could sit between these two!

I just saw this on my Live Journal friends page. I think it was done for this season, and it is so cute. Since we are looking at Jason Segal I should mention that I went to Last Stop CD Shop today. I was looking for Freaks and Geeks and as I was going up to pay for it the clerk showed me that he was just prepping Undeclared. I almost didn't get it and then changed my mind. Anyway, I still have half a season of Ugly Betty to finish. So I should be set with entertainment for quite some time.

This last weekend I went up to Brookings and got to pal around with the girls. We went to the pumpkin patch and got some pumpkins and hung out at McCrory Gardens where we found a couple of beautiful fall trees. I just love the colors of autumn. I especially liked my mom's picture. I took a lot of pictures, however I am saving some for the family blog and since this blog is primarily looked at by family members I thought I would save something for the other blog.
I had a great time on Saturday and was sad to return to SF. I had a babysitting job on Sunday for a family that goes to my center. They went to Elton John's concert and I had my first babysitting job since I was in college. Of course, they didn't have Direct TV when I was in college.
I have already made a decision that I am going to get a bigger television for myself after Christmas. My biggest screen is still pretty dinky and--- lets face it I watch a lot of TV. I am thinking of getting a Philips because I like everything that I have got that is from that company. Anyway... I'm constantly checking out televisions online and in stores. I am notorious for not having patience so we will see how long I put it off...
I should be getting ready for bed since i need to be at work at 8:30 AM

I know that all the people who saw the pilot raved about this show, but I was still reserving my excitement. Well that's no longer happening. I officially am excited. I mean hello Ned (Lee Pace) is handsome and Ellen Greene is in it! And thank god she looks better than she did as Sylar's mom. If that wasn't enough it has Kristin Chenoweth- who is refreshing. I also like Swoozie Kurtz so-- bonus! I taped it on Friday, but I have decided to replace America's Next Top Model with it. It is twisted and I adore it. It definitely is Big Fishish as far as the way it looks and feels.
Do I smell a new favorite show? Perhaps....

I just saw this on BWE (I haven't gone to that blog in a long time). It's about The Wonder Years and the fact that without the narration added over basically the characters spend a lot of time just staring at each other in silence. There I just completely gave the whole clip away- just watch it!
I have to work at 6:30 AM, why am I still up?

She must have made a deal with the devil. Even plastic surgery can't be that good.
Michelle is promoting Stardust overseas.
And Hairspray is at the cheap theatre starting this Friday! I've only seen it twice so far.
Amber those moves are far too dirty!
