Spice Girls - Wannabe

Alright

Now I have watched every Spice Girls song I ever liked. It's a sickness I tell you- a sickness! Did Posh ever really contribute anything to the group? Deep questions on a Thursday night..

Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There

haha
I just got rid of My Spice Girls notebooks that I held onto for about ten years. I sold them at a garage sale and for some reason it was a little sad to part with them. Some stupid people crammed them into a bag for a dollar at the end of the sale.

I remember that I got some Spice Girls stuff in college like I was enjoying them sarcastically. Ah- memories!

I'm kind of glad that the Spice Girls are having a reunion. Not that I will be going to it or anything...

And I am telling you

Wow- I just watched this and at the end I realizied that I had tears running down my cheeks. This clip was from the BET awards last night. It is Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Holliday singing the song 'And I Am Telling You' from the musical Dreamgirls. Holliday originated the role of Effie White and of course Hudson played the role in the movie. Anyway- I was floored...

Hot Fuzz Trailer

If you haven't seen it yet, you should. I'm so damn cheap that I of course reserve going to new movies to only ones that I can't not see the first weekend (in other words- Harry Potter). I got to see this at the 3 dollar theater on Monday night. It was definitely more gory than I thought it would be- but still laugh out loud funny.

Kelly and Reba Crossroads

I just watched them on CMT's Crossroads. This last weekend I stumbled on the channel and saw that they were doing something together. I love both of them- they totally kick ass. I don't care what some stupid celeb wanna-be says about Kelly either- she has more talent in her little finger than he does in his ugly immature body. I for one am going to buy Kelly's album tomorrow, and I am damn sure that I'm going to like it! I think it gets released tomorrow?? Anyway- yes...

I survived my family reunion- barely. It sucked the big one! I really don't care for my dad's relatives at all. Drunks and bores or another combination a drunken bore. At least I got to hang out with my niece Samantha.

I plan on going to Hot Fuzz tonight, by myself- per usual. That is if my car doesn't explode from heat! Wish me luck!

I now have an actual reason to fear amusement parks

The news that a teenager had her feet severed by a ride yesterday makes me almost want to puke.

The story covered by Yahoo

I went to the Six Flags in Illinois and went on the tower ride there. Mind you that was about six years ago- but what the hey! Now I keep envisioning seeing some girl sitting there calmly with no lower legs. An eyewitness said that the girl was really calm afterwards, from shock of course. My biggest fear of losing something on a ride other than my life of course, used to be a contact lens.

I'm watching Goonies right now- from the library. But I really should be sleeping because I have to get ready for a family reunion for my dad's side of the family. My parents are going to come and pick me up tomorrow morning early and we are heading to Nebraska.

Summer storms

Right now I'm watching the huge storm that is going on outside. I love when it's 1 in the morning and the lightning flashes and makes it look like afternoon for precisely .25th of a second. Maybe that's why I love strobe lights so much-- anyway that's a topic for another day. I'm listening to my music on my Myspace page and it is awesome with the storm. This day has been kind of strange. This afternoon we had some bad weather come in around 12:30 and it seemed like 9 PM. I'm completely off. I keep expecting the electricity to go off- it might!

Important news-

I succeeded in 'turning' two non-Office loving people into Office lovers! I listened to a message from Rebekah and it turns out that she and the hubby have watched most of Season 2 and love it! I am in no way associated with the show other than fan, but I took offense that they didn't love it at first. I'm glad to welcome them into the fold. That made my day! I had to put up my favorite pictures of my boys to celebrate!

Reba and Kelly- Because of You video

I love both of the artists. Love the original song- yet it doesn't seem right for a duet. All the same I like seeing the video.

The song reminds me of a family that I had in my room about a year ago. A young single mother who was going through a divorce with the father. She wasn't ready to let go and she made it difficult on herself, her estranged husband, and of course their daughter. She treated her daughter like a friend, and I think that this 4 year old heard and saw more than she should have. Every time I hear that song I think of her about fifteen years in the future, repeating her mother's life and mistakes. The part that really makes me think of it is this:

I watched you die
I heard you cry every night in your sleep
I was so young
You should have known better than to lean on me
You never thought of anyone else
You just saw your pain
And now I cry in the middle of the night
For the same damn thing

Anyway, there's more to the story, but that might give away who the family is and that's a big no-no for where I work. Confidentiality and all that jazz. I should be in bed already...

Wow!

Just when I think VH1 has reached the bottom of digging up stars from the eighties and having them do really embarrassing things, Chachi tops it. He's going to be in a reality show titled, 'Scott Baio is 45... and Single'

yeah- and he basically explores his past relationships trying to figure out why he is alone. Oh man!

I just... there really are no words to describe how badly VH1 has ruined my image of some of my favorite old sitcom stars. I really can't watch 'The Brady Bunch' anymore, because my image is ruined. I'm not delusional. I know that they were just actors, but I don't need to know all their kinky weird shit.

I had to include both pictures of Scott Baio because I couldn't determine which one to use.

Update- I just found out Wayne from The Wonder Years(aka Jason Hervey) is also appearing on the reality show- game back on! I love him, and quite frankly Wayne was a jerk anyway, so the reality of the actor can't really ruin the picture in my mind. You may resume your day!

Two YouTube videos that I find interesting

and I got them both from different sites

The first I obtained from Give Me My Remote. It is a ten minute long interview between Steve Carrell and Lauren Graham for their new movie Evan Almighty. Does it make me a terrible Office fan to say that I'm not pumped for either John Krasinski's License to Wed or this one? I most likely will go to them, because I love the actors and want to show support. But I'm going only because of that, if any other actors were in these movies I would probably not go. Anway the little clip has some cute moments- so here goes...

The second clip I got from my Lost forum. Somebody took a majority of the crash scenes from Lost and created a sychronized video of all aspects including Jack, Desmond, Juliet, Kate, and the tail sections. It is awesome! We are currently going over all the old episodes starting from the beginning. Come and join us! We are absolutely made of time until a new episode.

Fandomicity

I went on Proof You Watch Too Much TV's site and she had up a post about this wonderful documentary that an Office fan seat18b made for a film class. It is really good! A must to watch for any Office fan. There are 6 parts on YouTube, I put up the first two to get you hooked. You should be able to easily find the rest of the videos, quite frankly I'm too lazy to put the links on. Anyway, please watch.

Fandomicity Part One

Fandomicity Part Two

Well I finally did it

I finally watched High School Musical. Last night after we had the garage sale Taylor forced me into watching it. It was pretty good, however I hate that I am an old person because I picked apart the storytelling of it with my sister later. It was campy and cute and that Zac Efron could melt ice with those eyes- ahhhh! I guess I'm ready for the sequel.

I think I enjoyed the gay brother the most- Taylor thinks he just likes hats and loves to sing in musicals with his sister. Sure Taylor wait until college and you'll see.

Anyway- I got back from Brookings just about an hour ago. The garage sale went well. We were open on Friday afternoon and today from 7 AM until about 3 PM. We decided to make it a plastic sack full for a buck after 1 PM. Mainly to lighten our load to Goodwill. We actually did quite well- I put a lot of books out and clothes. We really sold things cheaply so profit isn't completely overwhelming, but mainly this was done to free up storage space in all our houses and we succeeded. Anyway I'm going to go and take a shower or maybe a bath and just relax.

Before I go- I just want to say it took me way too long to realize how to make it so pictures aren't just put at the top of a post. So needless to say- I'm actually going to be able to put images where I want to in posts. Feel free to comment on my superior technological skills.. :)

Mean is as mean does

I just have to blog about something that turned my stomach completely. I was looking at a celebrity gossip blog and they had a picture of Clive Owen and a lady standing beside him who they said was his wife. The poster was vicious in the description of her looks. She isn't some little Hollywood starlet, she is an actual woman. She looks like most of the women I've known my life, except you can tell it was a bad picture of her. The posters were ruthless in their comments as well and it just made me feel bad. And why point out some woman's so-called faults for no apparent reason? Plus, other people have said that it isn't his wife- like that makes it any better. So now instead of making fun of some celebrity's wife people are just making fun of an assistant? I admit I'm not as nice about some celebs- but those people push their stupid faces out there all the time, this woman didn't deserve the treatment she got. I saw it yesterday and just saw it on BWE done by the horrible Michelle Collins. I very rarely like the things she contributes, she's a bitch. Mean people suck!

Anyway, I'm avoiding getting my final garage sale stuff ready. I only worked one day this week- today! I could do that everyday! I need more motivation to get going, wish me luck!

Back from dropping off the girls

and I go on Best Week Ever and see this cute clip featuring James Franco and the director shooting an 'off camera' fight. I wonder how many 'fights' former Freaks and Geeks actors had with him. I most likely will buy the DVD because everytime I think about the pinkeye thing I start to get a bellyache from laughing- which my mom says is juvenile and 'besides you don't get pinkeye that way.'

James Franco gets fired as lead role in Knocked Up

I had a whirlwind of a couple days activity with the girls. Today we went on a trolley ride from Falls Park to The Washington Pavilion where we went to the Kirby Science Center and watched the movie Dolphins in the Cinedome. Well, Taylor and I watched Samantha was mad at me and went off down the aisle to sulk. The only thing that was extremely terrifying about it was that I always envision myself going ass over teakettle down the sloped seats, much less my three year-old niece who can fall down on flat surfaces easily.

Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves fairly well for the rest of the midafternoon. Time went fast and we realizied that we hadn't had lunch. We were going to jump on the next trolley, but due to many badcalls on my part and crappy phone people we ended up waiting at a trolley pick-up that wasn't functioning. I was livid, but I'm a little over my anger now.

We finally ate lunch at 3 PM- yes I'm a terrible aunt! I had to bring Taylor back by 5 PM because she had cheerleading practice, so the visit ended on kind of a crappy side. Monday was great however! Our long list of activities included going to my workplace to show them off basically, having a Subway picnic at Falls Park and ice cream afterwards, watching Toy Story 2 about two and a half times, going to the new water spray park that's near my apartment, going to Chuck E. Cheese for supper. Samantha was out at 9 PM and slept till 8 AM- Yes! Anyway- I really should be sleeping, because on Friday and Saturday I get to help run our garage sale. It's sick how much crap our family has- really sick!

Now that's how you get pinkeye

Hey! I should be sleeping considering I have the girls tonight for a sleepover at my place, but I still have a little energy left. I have the majority of the weekend off and I am hanging with the nieces for the first part of it. I'm sure I'll put pictures up or talk about it. I went to Knocked Up with my mom and sister. It was good. My mom died laughing the whole movie and then we start driving home and she almost acts like she didn't like it. That's my mom though, but it's kind of annoying. There were more than a couple of times when I had a hard time breathing because I was laughing so much. Mainly at the pinkeye thing for some reason. Anyway, I would give it two thumbs up. If you are in the mood for a comedy that doesn't hold much back then you should check it out. There were so many cameos and small parts that made my day. Kristin Wiig plays a bitch so well, I should take lessons. Paul Rudd still makes me feel like I did when I watched Clueless, and that's not right or fair. He does get better looking as he gets older! Anyway I'm rambling and goodnight.

I'm still giddy over it- I just found out at 6:30- so sue me...

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

Ah- summer entertainment!

paris hilton jail song

Alright- I shouldn't be so happy that she is going back, but I am. I already had believed that she would only serve a couple of days, so it wasn't shocking to me. I think the fact that she will only be more famous because of the whole situation is sickening. But for now, we celebrate!

Conan - Paris Hilton is in Jail!

I love him!

Cindy Lauper The Goonies

The most random video post ever. I noticied the new format that YouTube videos were in and I wanted to try it on my blog. Then of course my first thought was Cyndi Lauper's Goonies song. I used to watch this video over and over when I was little. I didn't remember as much as I thought I did though. Great- now I want to watch The Goonies!

I am overwhelmed

Next week I am on vacation every day but Thursday. My mom, sister and I are going to have a garage sale. I was thinking I wouldn't have that much to put in it, but going through my shit tonight I realizied that I have way too much stuff. I literally have a mountain behind my couch right now. And I still have so much to go through. I am getting rid of tons of books- mainly ones I thought I would eventually get to- and four years later I still haven't. I am probably going to have to get my nieces for a sleepover and bring my parent's van. I still have to think about prices. I think a quarter a book? Or 6 or so for a dollar? I also went through a board game buying thrift store spree and I have probably played them each once. I don't even want to think about going through clothes. Oh man!

I have been watching Life on the D-List tonight- I can't help but love that show. Sometimes Kathy Griffin can be too much, but I still laugh. Anyway, I sure picked a good week to get ready for a garage sale- I'm actually working overtime this week- and my workplace never wants to give overtime. So I should probably get to bed. But instead I'll think of more things to talk about...

Last night I bought and attached a new shower head. I liked my old one, but I wanted a detachable one so I could re-enact Ferris Bueller's Day Off shower scene. Alright, maybe not exactly. I'm totally rambling and I have ate way too many chocolate covered Altoids- are you supposed to finish a whole tin?

I still have to watch Ross the Intern on The View, except I started watching what my DVR had taped and it is so terrible still I can't hear anything. I just got distracted by how not funny Dane Cook is, I am watching Jimmy Kimmel and he was on. Anyway- back to Ross, I need to watch it but I may need to check YouTube.
The picture has no real purpose, but I could never find a reason to use it. It kind of shows my frustration though.

Pictures that make me happy

Just some images that make me happy today. The first is Rodrigo at the Alma awards this last weekend. And the next two are dreamy cardigan wearing John Krasinski- sigh. The last is just a wax version of Paris at Madame Tussauds. I have a feeling she will serve about a week and then be released- so no I don't feel any sorrow for her. I do think it would be awful sitting in an big event and realizing everyone thinks you are a big joke. That probably stung a little for her.

I'm finally watching the MTV movie awards

I'm glad that Sarah Silverman didn't wuss out on telling a couple of Paris Hilton jokes. I think that she has done pretty good so far.

Oh for cute- John Krasinski, enough said. Sascha Baron Cohen is too cute, why haven't I watched Borat yet?

The whole Amy Winehouse thing I don't know what to really think. I like her sound, but she is just a trainwreck that everyone knows is going to happen soon, and why is that fun? I really don't like to see people do destructive things and our society is obsessed with people who knowingly are doing harmful things to themselves and the world. That said I do like her songs I've heard.

What the fuck- why is this whole thing a big Transformers ad? I guess because they paid for it. Of course, Shia LeBouf is easy on the eyes, that Josh guy though is tainted because of his relationship with Fergie.

Wow- Johnny Depp was actually there.
Amanda Bynes is pure comedic gold. Really, I do like her.
Movies I still haven't seen- Borat, 300, Knocked Up, Night at the Museum(?), the second and third Pirates of the Carribean movies.

What am I still doing up? Night

Jim and Pam: Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

I'm missing The Office so I found this beautiful video to tide me over till the fall. I am trying to hook my friends Rebekah and Jamie into the show. I had lent them the first season and they didn't like it, but I basically pushed the second season on them to try and get them to see the light. I really am fully aware that they are fictional characters, but I get heart flutters in their scenes together. sigh

Fair city (um okay town) of Fairmont

Hey! I'm up visiting my friends in Fairmont, MN. I came up on Friday night through the rain which is the worst driving condition for me. I start freaking out as soon as it starts to get misty. Anyway I made it alive. Got there is time to sit around a fire and drink some beers. It was nice. I got to see Rebekah's new little nephew- which makes me have a little baby fever. I realizied that last night I knew her brother when he was a senior in high school and now he is done with college and a dad- huh? I don't really know what we are doing tonight and that makes me happy. I like unscheduled lazy days, I feel like I haven't had one of those forever.

Oh- I ended up not going to 300 on Thursday night. I did go to Reign Over Me, the Adam Sandler drama. It was alright. I really had no expectations so it wasn't good nor bad. I'm a sucker for a 9/11 story, but knowing that it was a fake one just kind of left me unmoved. Mind you I haven't yet seen either of the blockbuster movies over 9/11. I plan on doing it sometime probably when I'm ready to cry my eyes out.

Anyway- good afternoon!

Reading got hotter!
